Meet Our Founder
Nyaituga Bookshop was founded in 1972 as the very first bookshop in Keroka town. The idea was born out of frustration and a deep passion for learning. Mzee Christopher Onchiri, a local teacher at the time, was searching for a book and was shocked by just how difficult it was to access quality reading materials in the area.
Recognizing this massive gap, he saw an opportunity to serve his community. Mzee Onchiri decided to take action, dedicating himself to making books accessible and helping his hometown become more educated. That spark of inspiration is how Nyaituga Bookshop began, and we have been proudly fueling the minds of Keroka ever since.
